Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced painter/airbrush artist to paint play elements with a variety of urethane and automotive type paints, using spray guns, airbrushes, and other types of painting tools. You will work with stencils, masks and freehand to produce product as depicted in production drawings and illustrations. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, who can bring drawings and 2D renderings to life. The ability to produce quality work in a timely fashion is key, to deliver the best products to our customers. Teamwork is a must; we are looking for collaborative artists to work alongside our paint team, designers, project managers and coworkers. Candidates must have previous experience prepping and repairing surfaces, applying paint and top coat, and maintaining paint equipment. This is a versatile role and will assist in other duties throughout the production shop. The work will take place in a production environment, and is full-time (Monday - Friday, 7am – 3:30 or 4:00pm) at our Englewood, CO location.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Mix and apply paint; ensure proper paint coverage.

  • Accurately replicate the design/illustration per Detail Drawing.

  • Use, maintain, and clean airbrushes, air guns, pressure pots and other equipment as required.

  • Prep and repair any discrepancies in surface, including filling and sanding imperfections.

  • Maintain records of labor time and materials used, and record appropriately.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area; observe and implement proper safety practices.

  • Assist in performing other painting/coating related maintenance duties as assigned.

  • Follow the daily/weekly schedule and prioritize projects in order to meet customer shipping deadlines.

  • Work with cross-department teams to communicate questions and concerns surrounding quality, timeline or other work-related issues.

  • Assist the team in other duties throughout the production shop.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 30lbs.

  • Ability to push and pull heavy machinery and play elements.

  • Accurately replicate the design/illustration per Detail Drawing on to 3D structures using airbrush painting.

  • High School Education or GED (preferred).

  • Formal art training (preferred).

  • Comprehend methods and techniques of mixing and preparing paint or similar coatings.

  • Understand operational characteristics of tools and equipment used in painting/mixing.

  • Prior experience with principles and practices used in painting/mixing.

  • Familiarity with practices relating to health and safety involved in painting/mixing assignments.

  • Proficient with methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials and supplies.

  • Specified personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, are required for this position, and are provided by the company.

  • Medical test is required, per the respirator protocol and PPE requirements.
