Director of Global Transportation and Logistics

We are looking to fill a Full-time Director of Global Transportation and Logistics within the Operations Department based In Dallas Texas.

Responsibilities include:

· Oversee and manage, directly or indirectly, the shipping coordinators in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Indiana, Denver, Texas and a dotted line reporting in Poland, Scotland, and UK

· Research and analyze freight costs and classifications, delivery methods, and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfactions

· Negotiate logistics services contracts and pricing agreements with providers in various transportation modes, including parcel, LTL, TL, Ocean and global forwarding and customs brokerage services to meet budgetary goals along with service metrics

· Establish and monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems. (KPI’s, including cost per ton per mile, reduction of additional charges including demurrage, surcharges, and standby)

· Develop and monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics, indicators and financial metrics, identify trends and analyze variances

· Maintain knowledge of freight tariffs, classifications and discounts for successful negotiations


Qualified applicants will have:


· A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field

· 15 years or more of experience working in the transportation/warehouse industry

· 5 years or more of experience in international freight forwarding or brokerage

· Lean/Six Sigma or APICS certification

· Demonstrated proficiency in managing Logistics Operations in a highly seasonal/variable volume

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data

· Excellent communication skills

· Customs Brokers License preferred
