QC Steel Inspector


Are you a QC Steel Inspector with the knowledge of blueprint reading? Who is willing help fitters and welders to plan a proper assembly and welding operation?

  • Read blueprints and understands welding symbols.

  • Verify layout components by the fitters and welders according to specifications, using angle finder, level, combination square, calipers, tape measure, ruler, etc.

  • Verify proper usage of jig tool for standard parts production.

  • Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Maintain assigned area and equipment in safe and functional order.

  • Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.

  • Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.

  • Operate Forklift.

  • Must keep area neat and clean in accordance with 6S leadership and standards/goals.

  • Record quality issues and archive all Quality Control Documents related to Welding Inspection.

  • Communicate effectively with Welders, Cutters, Receiving and management of the Steel Manufacturing Department.

  • Adhere and comply with all company safety requirements.

  • Other related activities as required



Qualified applicants will have: 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Prefer one to three years related manufacturing experience.

  • Hold in-depth job knowledge and demonstrates consistent results.

  • Demonstrates proficiency with regard to job expectations and the ability to motivate and improve team performance

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (Lbs., Ft., Inch.)

  • Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading.

  • Extensive knowledge of welding symbols and welding quality.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel

  • Develops relationships and achieve common goals.

  • Consistently shows concern for quality, accuracy, and completeness of work activities.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and drives resolution of any discrepancies.

  • Is open to change; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.

  • Offers ideas on improving assigned task process.
